The Family Planning Market Report

The Family Planning Market Report, produced jointly by the Clinton Health Access Initiative and the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition, is a cornerstone resource for the global reproductive health community. The report has been published annually since 2015 providing over 10 years of market intelligence into public-sector procurement of contraceptives in low- and lower-middle income countries.

Developed in collaboration with 18 suppliers and numerous key stakeholders, the report offers enhanced visibility into public sector contraceptive procurement dynamics across low- and lower-middle income countries. This edition features:

• Five-year trends in method-level procurement
• Procurement value trends from UNFPA and USAID and future outlook
• Insights on domestic resource mobilization for commodity procurement

In addition to the quantitative data, the report also features reflections and analyses from key stakeholders, providing valuable perspectives on emerging market trends and future opportunities.

1. Public-sector in this report is defined as volumes purchased by Ministries of Health (MOHs) or other government-affiliated purchasers, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), as well as social marketing organizations (SMOs).
2. The report analyzes procurement trends for dominant product based modern methods of contraception which include implants, copper and hormonal intrauterine devices (IUDs), oral contraceptives (combined and progestin-only), emergency oral contraceptives, injectables, female and male condoms.
